Read the purpose before the date

An education notice can contain a school, a teacher, Korean language study, and a deadline without being a class you can join. The first useful question is therefore not 언제예요?, or when is it? Ask 무엇을 해요?, or what do they do?

The activity noun usually gives you the answer. 발표 points toward speaking or presenting. 파견 points toward an organization sending a person to another place for an assignment. 연수 points toward a bounded program of training or study. Dates matter only after you know which path the page describes.

This English-language Hangul lesson is optional reading-practice context. It does not define 발표, 파견, or 연수 and does not support any claim about the cited 2026 programs.

발표하다: someone presents something

발표하다 means to present or announce, but the surrounding nouns tell you which sense is active. In the Ministry of Education's August 2026 account of the first Japanese High School Korean Speech Contest, students gave presentations on free topics related to Korea and the Korean language. That context supplies a presenter, a topic, and a contest audience.

Use the frame 사람이 주제를 발표하다: a person presents a topic. If you see 발표회, look for who speaks and what is presented. If you see 결과 발표, the institution may instead be announcing results. Do not translate 발표 in isolation; identify the thing being made public.

파견하다: an organization sends someone to serve elsewhere

파견하다 is not ordinary travel. It describes sending a person to another workplace or assignment. The Ministry's May 2026 release says it planned to dispatch 93 Korean-language teachers to 13 countries during 2026, with recruitment for second-half placements in overseas primary and secondary schools.

Use the frame 기관이 사람을 장소에 파견하다: an organization dispatches a person to a place. The subject is usually the sending body, the object is the worker or specialist, and 에 marks the destination. If you are a learner reading the notice, this word is a strong signal that the page may target teachers or staff rather than students.

연수: structured training has a program and a period

연수 can be translated as training, study, or a training program. The San Francisco Korean Education Center's August 21 notice describes a 2026 overseas-youth Korean education camp: three days of online preliminary training in October followed by a five-day in-person program in November. It names eligible middle and high school students, a format, a location, and organized learning and cultural activities.

Use the frame 사람이 연수에 참가하다 when someone participates in training, or 사람이 연수하다 when the focus is undertaking the training itself. Unlike 파견, the core meaning is not that an employer sends a worker to fill a post. Unlike 발표, the program is broader than one act of speaking.

Use a four-part check on the next notice

Write four labels: participant, action, destination, and duration. For 발표, participant and topic usually carry the meaning. For 파견, the sending institution and destination matter most. For 연수, participant, format, and duration define the program.

The three official records agree that Korean-language education can connect learners, teachers, institutions, and travel across borders. They contrast in who acts and why: students present, a ministry dispatches teachers, and selected youth join structured training. That contrast is your stop rule. Do not act on the date until the activity and participant match you.
